Blackman Vibe was born to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Bello on the 21st Of April 2002. Days after he arrived into the world, his parents decided to christen him as David Adeleke Bello.
He is a Nigerian by birth and hails from the South West region of the country. The Yoruba artiste is an indigene of Ogun State. However, he was born and raised in Lagos City.
Blackman Vibe comes from a Christian background, which is why his parents named him after the biblical character David. Alongside his sister, Deborah Bello, he was brought up with good moral standards and Christian faith.
Growing up in his parents’ house, he discovered his creative side from participating in extracurricular activities in school and serving in some units in church. He found out that he could sing and compose songs. His love for music was fostered by listening to leading music artists in the Nigerian and Western industries.
Blackman Vibe‘s middle-class background gave him access to quality education as a young individual.
He observed his creché, primary and secondary school education at top-tier private schools in Lagos.
He is currently an undergraduate at one of the prestigious universities in the country.
Despite having a deep interest in music and composing dozens of songs, Blackman Vibe‘s music career didn’t flag off until 2020. Forced to stay at home due to the global pandemic and indefinite Academic Staff Union of Universities – ASUU Strike, he had enough time to pursue his music passion as he chose to take the profession seriously.
The lockdown period saw Blackman Vibe write down scores of songs in his notepad and record some in a studio close to his neighborhood. Encouraged by the positive reviews he received from some of the early music he created, he started promoting his songs on social media.
At the same time, he was recording covers of popular songs by other established acts. Posting these songs on his social media pages helped increase his fan base as more people came in contact with his music.
Blackman Vibe‘s first single for 2022 was released in January. The song, which is titled Dorime, saw a guest appearance from the fellow artiste, Otega Billz. Ever since its release, the song has been trending on local charts for weeks, staying at the top ten songs mark of newly released songs by upcoming artists in the country. The song has also done great numbers in terms of streams and downloads, which can be attributed to the massive airplay on several local radio stations. The single was produced by Stpontrakk and was mixed & mastered by Mo’ Mide.
In February 2022, he was invited to Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology (LAUTECH) in Ogbomoso to perform at a show organized by the institution’s students. The young artist made his mark at the event with an electrifying performance that had hundreds singing and dancing to his music.
Also, in February, Blackman Vibe released another hit single, Transfer, which sealed his status as one of the artists to watch out for. The visual of the song was directed by Director JK.
Blackman Vibe was featured as a guest artist on Hustle by Kapo Lion, which is one of the songs of the latter’s newly released EP project.
The talented singer has recorded success with doing covers of popular songs such as Baddest Boy (original song by Skiibii), Omo Ope (original song by Asake featuring Olamide), amongst others.
